Awards

Monthly Awards (K-8ᵗʰ)

The OWLS (K-6th) 1 per award per teacher.

  • OPTIMISM: Award goes to students who exemplify or improve in the area of character, empathy, respectfulness, kindness, etc.

 

  • WONDER: Award goes to students who excel or improve in the areas of STEAM.

 

  • LEADERSHIP: Award goes to students who excel in academics and behavior expectations.

 

  • SUCCESS: Award goes to students who excel or improve in 1 or more academic areas.

 

Perfect Attendance (K-6th) - Award is given to students who are present at school each day of the trimester (given the month after the close of the trimester). Suspensions automatically exclude a student from the award.

 

OWLS of the Month (7th-8th) – 1 per teacher at Legacy Luncheon event every month, held on Thursdays during lunch.

Trimester Awards (7ᵗʰ-8ᵗʰ)

Gold Honor Roll - Certificates are given to students who earn a 4.0 GPA

Silver Honor Roll - Certificates are given to students who earn a 3.0-3.9 GPA

Renaissance Cards - Given to students at Renaissance Rallies based on their Grade Point Average and citizenship (2.0 to 4.0 GPA).

  • Gold Card: 4.0 GPA with no “N’s” or “U’s” in citizenship
  • Silver Card: 3.5-3.9 GPA with no “N’s” or “U’s” in citizenship
  • Red Card: 3.0-3.49 GPA with no “N’s” or “U’s” in citizenship

The OWLS (7th & 8th) - 2 per award per grade.

  • OPTIMISM: Award goes to students who exemplify or improve in the area of character, empathy, respectfulness, kindness, etc.
  • WONDER: Award goes to students who excel or improve in the areas of STEAM.
  • LEADERSHIP: Award goes to students who excel in academics and behavior expectations.

End of Year (6ᵗʰ)

Exceptional Growth Award is presented to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic and or behavioral growth throughout the school year.

Principal’s Award is given to two 6ᵗʰ grade students at the end of the year.

Presidential Academic Excellence Award

  • Advanced score on CAASPP in ELA or Math for 5ᵗʰ grade.
  • 3’s and 4’s in all areas of their report card for 4ᵗʰ and 5ᵗʰ grades, and the first two trimesters of 6ᵗʰ grade.
  • No Unsatisfactory marks anywhere on the student’s report card.

 

End of Year (7ᵗʰ & 8ᵗʰ)

“Make Your Mark” Award is presented by the principal to two 8ᵗʰ-grade students at Promotion who exemplified optimism, wonder, leadership, and success throughout their time at Legacy Academy.

Top Owl Awards for achievement, effort, and/or progress presented to 7ᵗʰ and 8ᵗʰ grade students in each department.

8th Grade Presidential Academic Excellence Award

  • Advanced score on CAASPP in ELA or Math in 7ᵗʰ grade
  • Must have a 3.5 GPA or above in grades 7 and 8.
  • NO D’s, F’s, or U’s on their report card

Legacy Award is given to 8ᵗʰ-grade students at Promotion who maintained a 4.0 GPA during their 2 years in Junior High at Legacy Academy.

Perfect Attendance awards are given to students who are present at school for the whole year. Students who have been suspended are not eligible for the award.
