Kids Heart Challenge Kicked Off & CPR in Schools Training Kit!

Posted Date: 04/09/26 (04:06 PM)

Dear Families,

We kicked off Kids Heart Challenge today! Sign up and be part of the Lifesavers League by joining our team at http://www2.heart.org/goto/LegacyAcademyChino. Let’s promote healthy & happy hearts while raising donations for the American Heart Association to fight America’s #1 and #4 killers - heart disease and stroke! Our school can also earn funding and PE equipment along the way!

Goals & Celebrations:
• When we reach our goal of raising $5,000 in lifesaving donations, Mrs. Chase, Mrs. DeVoe, and Mrs. Norman will get SILLY STRINGED!
• Any student who completes Finn’s Mission will get a Pizza Party with the Principals!
• The first 10 students who complete Finn's Mission will get a BONUS GIFT - Victor, the XL Heart Hero!

3 Things to do TODAY!
1. Download the AHA Schools app
2. Give or Get a Donation! SEND 5 texts or emails to friends & family asking for support
3. Start Finn’s Mission, where students become lifesavers by learning Hands-Only CPR and the warning signs of a stroke.

If your student was off track or unable to attend the Kids Heart Challenge assembly, no worries! Families can watch the assembly together at home by clicking the link below. This short 6-min video includes all the important information students need to get started and complete Finn’s Mission:
A Special Thank You to GoCal
We’re also proud to share that, thanks to a generous local sponsor, GoCal, our school received an American Heart Association CPR in Schools Training Kit. This important resource helps equip our teachers and staff with the skills and confidence to respond in a cardiac emergency, making our school a safer place for everyone.
Each year, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests happen outside of hospitals in the U.S., and HandsOnly CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival when performed right away. Having trained adults and a plan in place truly makes a difference.

Thank you for your continued support of our school, our students, and this lifesaving cause. We’re so grateful to partner with you to build healthy hearts and a safer school community.
